This painting was created for my grandson Johnathan, who was 9 years old at the time. While visiting in the fall, I would drive him and his twin sister Kyndal to their respective schools early in the morning and marvel over the amazing colours of the trees. Johnathan would say, "Grandma V, stop talking about the beautiful trees!" and then we would laugh. So for Christmas that year, I gave him the painting of this particular tree which was situated half a block from Fletcher Academy in Raleigh, NC where he was attending school. Hopefully one day he will come to cherish the painting and the memory...
